Blog: Clean Air Eastbourne

We’re helping a local community project assemble sensors to monitor air quality

A local community organisation was founded in Eastbourne to raise awareness of poor air quality – not just in our town, but in the wider environment.

Clean Air Eastbourne found a monitorng platform to which air quality sensors can be connected to monitor particulate concentrations.

They built and deployed a few and the results were interesting so they looked to expand the number of sensors in town through a project with Devonshire West Big Local.  We were delighted when the team asked TechResort to help out in designing a community sensor building workshop.

Our Elves learned how to build sensors themselves; made some special connecting wires to make the connections more robust and designed a session script for beginners to use.

Then we supported the first community-based workshop in Leaf Hall.

It’s great to see more sensors being deployed – not just in Eastbourne but in the surrounding area, too.

Thanks to Rob, Brian, Andrew and the crew for inviting us.
