Inspired by the popular phone app 2048, regular Project Session attendee Ylias has created his own, hand held console version.
Instead of using a screen and numbered squares, Ylias used an Arduino, and a 5 x 5 array of LEDs. He then programmed 4 buttons to implement the up/down left/right functions. Rather than the numbers adding up, two adjacent LEDs of the same colour can repeatedly be combined with the ultimate aim of attaining the ‘Final Colour’. Helped by TechResort Elf, David, he then built his game into a hand held enclosure with a battery and an on/off switch.
