Local artist, Jim Hobbs, came to us wishing to explore the relationship between light and sound. His exhibition consisted of a series of coloured slides projected onto two different screens and he wondered if this could be automatically generate a related audio signal.

We use two Spectral Sensors to analyse the colour content on each slide and worked with Jim to generate a stereo audio track based on that content. The work was due to be incorporated at an art installation in New York in late 2018.

Sadly, this prototype was put together so quickly we didn’t have a chance to get any footage of it.
