TechResort aims to make Eastbourne a great town for digital, tech and creative people, but we’ll only manage it if everyone works together in a co-ordinated way. The Pledge is a first step to achieving this.

Our pledge is a short statement that anyone can sign and many already have. Scroll down for the full list of signatories.

There’s no financial commitment. It just shows a willingness to work with TechResort and other supporters.

Pledge wording

We will help grow the creative, digital and tech sector in Eastbourne to provide a better future for our town.

We’re doing this because…

It will diversify our economy. New higher paid jobs will be created which will start to challenge the low wage issues that all seaside towns face. In time we will do our bit to address the digital, tech and creative skills gap across the UK.

We aim to…

Grant every child and teen in Eastbourne the opportunity to play, experiment, create and learn using up to date technology. Give every adult digital skills so that they have the confidence to play a part in our changing world. Help local digital, tech and creative companies overcome the challenges they face to grow. Signpost entrepreneurs to the finance and support they need to create new products and services. Encourage world class digital, tech and creative companies to choose Eastbourne as a place to do business.

We’ll do this by…

Starting small with initiatives like our code club. Young people are already inspired and we can build on that. We like measuring and experimenting. We quickly get to know what works and doesn’t so can move fast. We’re open and collaborative. TechResort and its supporters want to meet like minded organisations and we’ll share and grow together.

We ask that your organisation…

  • holds a discussion amongst your leaders (Chief Executive, directors, governors etc as appropriate) about the Pledge
  • agrees to support the Pledge’s aims
  • signs the Pledge at a public gathering of other signatories (preferred signatories would be your leaders)
  • allows the use of your logo on the TechResort website and in related literature as a ‘supporter’ of its work
  • commits to sending a high level representative to the TechResort roundtable, a quarterly gathering of local digital, tech and creative companies and educators to discuss joint projects
  • encourages other related organisations or businesses to support the Pledge in the same way
  • recognises that there are no financial or programme commitments at this stage
