TechResort believes many Eastbourne digital, tech and creative firms and students would benefit from more tailored funding and business support than is currently available locally.

We’re about to launch a short research project to find out more about this need and how best to meet it.

We’re currently thinking about a three stage project to be completed by Spring 2016:

  • sit down with possible local funders to establish the evidence they need to see
  • interviews with local digital, tech and creative firms and students to better understand the scale and type of need
  • research into similar initiatives in the UK and elsewhere to establish possible models for an Eastbourne based offer

Once this work is complete we will report back to possible funders, encouraging them to deliver the right kind of funds and support as quickly as possible.

Ideally such support would be in detailed development by the time our Coastal Communities money expires (Dec 2016).

This project is being run temporarily by one of our directors, Will Callaghan. Once we’re clear about the scope of the work we’ll advertise for it to be completed.

The costs of this project and any expenses are being covered from our Coastal Communities Fund win.
